Welcome to the forum! The forum has been very slow of late but a free 22 in sailing condition should generate some interest. The 22 is a great boat ! I hope you find a good home for her.

Re: Chrysler 22 Keel Cable
I suggest you change the cable to stainless steel ASAP if the cable breaks while the keel is up there would likely be damage possibly holing the hull. This happened to to someone in a c26 who managed to get the boat to the beach before completely sinking. Check the documents page if you want to know...

I know they are expensive but Rudder Craft sells make , model specific tillers and lists some for the c26 and c22. Hope this helps.

Re: Captain Scott is still alive! LOL!
Captain Scott, Glad to hear you are still sailing. My wife and I spent a week sailing the islands in our c26 this year. Had a great time but did not see any other Chryslers. Saw lots of wildlife including an orca while in the middle of the strait while crossing from cattle pass back to John Wayne Ma...

Re: Kick up rudder question
Captain Ron, I looked in the manuals section for the depth on the swing keel c26 and it is listed as 2’ -3” so the rudder will not be deeper than that on the 26. You didn’t ay weather you have a 22 or 26. There are a very complete set of manuals for both the 22 and 26 in the document section. Specs ...

Moonracer,
You need to be a little more specific in what you need. Back stay, fore stay ,
Fore or aft shroud.?

Anchoring and Dinghy towing in rough weather
My wife and I recently returned from cruising the San Juan Islands in WA. Not much sailing but motored about 150 mi. all told. Unfortunately the wind never did cooperate so the iron Jenny got a workout. The islands are beautiful with great hiking and good anchorage’s. We used mooring balls when avai...

Moonracer
Welcome to the forum. I sail a C26 and the life line stanchons all come at close to 90 deg from the water surface. The decks on the 26 are narrow enough without having life lines leaning in. Pictures would be helpful. Is the boat new to you ? Where do you sail ?

Re: Rudder Craft | Chrysler 22
Jacob, I believe several people have used ruddercraft products. Try going to the general discussion and use the search feature for “ rudder “ and you will likely find information. The stock rudder floats up and is a pain to get down. I drilled two 3” holes through one side of my rudder then poured i...

Gary, Glad you were able to get out in your boat. My wife and I just returned from WA q cruising the San Juan islands. I can tell you tha in rough conditions that 9.9 hp is a real help plowing through 4 kn tides and 4 ft waves. Buried the rail getting bashed on the side a couple of times but the c26...

This is a new rudder head for a C26. I need the dimensions on the original Chrysler part if any one can help. The C22 uses the same part. I need all the dimensions including the bolt diameter and distance from the step.

Re: Minimum HP for a C26?
Gary, The 5 hp will be the smallest outboard I would recommend. As long as you don’t have to fight currants you will be fine. If you get into a high wind situation it could be dicey depending on how much win you are talking about. Beside my c26 I sail a Mac 25 swing keel with a 4 stroke 6 hp Honda l...

Thanks for the reply but I need the dimensions of the block itself that the tiller straps attach to that is clamped to the rudder post. Also my original rudder stock does not have a key , a picture showing the key on the post would be much appreciated.

C 26 rudder head dimensions
The PO modified the rudder head on my C26 and the last time I had it out I almost lost steering while motoring Close to shore. Re: C26 / Rotten wood in cockpit lockers
Pnwsailor Auto parts suppliers or anywhere that sells auto body repair supples will sell various grades of scotch brite pads that fit on small rotary disks. Re: C26 / Rotten wood in cockpit lockers
Silicon can be difficult to remove completely and nothing sticks if you don’t remove every bit of it. I think I would try scotch brite on whatever rotary tool available to you then wipe down with solvent. I’m in CO and my boat is in Sequim but I have a local 26 that I can check and I will get back t...

Has anyone used a Backstay adjuster ona Chrysler 26 or 22
I have been looking at Backstay adjusters because I have installed a cdi reefer furler and an adjuster is a good way to tighten the forestay. In reading up on their use they can make a significant impact on efficiency when used appropriately. Has anyone on the forum used one on a masthead rig ? Rick...
