C22 Price
What are they going for these days? I'm looking to sell mine. It needs a bit of work... new battery, throttle cable is stuck on outboard, keel cable needs replacement, rudder lines need replacement, some cosmetic damage to bow, some wiring may need to be fixed, could use some paint/waxing. She comes...

Re: Rudder raising and lowering lines?
I think it definitely helps to have two people there when installing it. One person to keep the line tight from the cockpit and another to put the rudder back in place. I did mine solo and it was a lot of on/off the boat to get it back in place.

Re: Broken Keel Cable on Mooring
Thanks, Rick. I was able to get the keel up in the water with a combination of come-along straps attached to a line around the keel and attaching a strong rope to the keel by going down the tube and attaching that to the winch. Once the keel was past vertical I was able to winch her on up and safety...

Broken Keel Cable on Mooring
Hello everyone. I've got a broken keel cable on my Chrysler 22 and my keel is now stuck in the downward position on its mooring. How can I lift it? I'd like to get it lifted and secured enough to get her on her trailer. It's on a small lake, so hauling it out with a lift isn't an option. This will h...

I haven't posted in a while, but I thought I'd share some videos of me out in our Chrysler 22 on a breezy day on Lake Waccamaw, NC. Re: Bought a new sail for my 26 today
I'd love to know what you think of them when you get them. I've been thinking about using Precision to order new sails for my 22. I was thinking the 400 series dacron as well. Looks like they make a quality product from the videos I've seen.

Re: Boom Gooseneck
Got ya. I don't mind it being fixed. It's fixed so the top of the sail is at the mast head and there is plenty of tension on the luff. I'm also tall so I like the headroom. The boat I have has a few modifications. A previous owner also installed traveler tracks for the jib/genoa. It is nice being ab...

Re: Hurricane Florence
I'm happy to report that both my C22 and Hobie 16 made it through the storm unscathed. Tilting the C22 on the stern kept water from entering through the companionway as it sometimes can on the trailer and she was bone-dry upon inspection. Our club was fortunate to not sustain much damage as well. Un...

Re: Hurricane Florence
My gal, Miss Marian, rode it out about on her trailer at Lake Waccamaw (a little west of Wilmington). Someone sent some pictures to me yesterday and both my C22 and Hobie 16 appear to be OK. I strapped the 22 to the trailer with heavy duty stuff and tilted her so that the back of the trailer rested ...

Downhaul Upgrade?
Has anyone upgraded the downhaul controls on their C22? The single line/pulley/clam cleat is really difficult to adjust in any wind. My sails are blown originals, but I just can't flatten the sail enough to get the creases out. There is a crease at every slug point on the main upwind. I was thinking...

Re: NC Sailors
I sail my Chrysler 22 on Lake Waccamaw mostly. I've got it moored there at a small sailing club. I've also got a Hobie 16 which tends to be my travel boat.
Oriental is such a nice place. I love visiting.

Re: Dwyer Spreaders and mounts
I received my spreaders last week. It did take Dwyer about three weeks to complete the order before it shipped, however I do know they were recently bought out by another company. The spreaders and brackets look great, so I'll chalk it up to moving pains. When you attached the new brackets, did you ...

I got the ladder installed, but forgot to take a camera to document the process. I'll be going back to the boat in a few days to install my new spreaders and I'll get some pics of the finished work. I camped at the lake to take care of a couple of projects. I needed to replace the ropes for my rudde...

Re: Installing Transom Ladder
Well... I think I'm about to actually undertake this project. The ladder I have has a permanent support near the last rung and will just fit the transom. However, to make it fit the mounting brackets are going to have to be just under the top rail of the stern. It doesn't feel like it is cored in th...

Mainsheet Blocks Size
Hello all. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced their original blocks and if so what brand/size did you go with. Re: 22 sails
I had to replace mine when I got caught in some heavy winds and the top 4 feet of me main ripped horizontally to the mast. I was lucky enough to find a used set locally, but it took a lot of hunting. When I can spring for them, I'm planning to have these folks make a sail for my 22. Here is a video ...

Re: Gas tank question
The 6 gal Attwood is what I use as well. I've noticed that I have to really tighten it down when sailing or it can leak when at large heel angles, but then I have to remember to loosen it to vent or it will swell considerably in the heat. It was a little concerning at first and took me a second to f...

Re: Gas tank question
I use a 6 gallon for my 6hp 2Stroke Evinrude on my C22. I'm not familiar with the 26. The tank fits snuggly inside the rear storage compartment in the cockpit. It may be a while before I'm back at my boat, but I'll try to snap a picture if I can remember to.

I also thought that glass/resin would be the best way to fix the repair. I order my glass and resins from US Composites. Thanks for the reply! I didn't know the trick about drilling over-sized holes and filling with epoxy. I'll be sure to do that. That certainly makes sense. I do know that water intrusion at the transom is bad news.

Installing Transom Ladder
Hello, I was able to salvage a very nice transom ladder off of a junked boat at my club and I am planning on installing it on my 22. Have any of you done this? It's the standard three bolt per hinge, flip up/down type ladder. Should I glass in a backing plate of marine plywood, or is the glass thick...

Re: Where's the water coming from?
I've had some issues with minor leaking as well. I too was getting water in weird places. I was on the boat in a really heavy rain and noticed water coming in from the cockpit storage hatch/seat on the port side. Water would come in from the corner of the hatch and pour through into the cabin where ...

Re: Kind of an Emergency: Winter Water Leaks Filling Bilge and Cabin Sole
Sorry you are having bad luck with your new boat. Mine got flooded during Hurricane Mathew on the trailer and I evacuated the water with a batter operated sump pump I got for like 20-30 bucks at Lowe's. With fresh batteries it will actually move water pretty fast. You may want to get a cheap bit of ...
