I did make a bracket like this and it worked but I wouldn't recommend doing it that way. When you are not using the trolling motor it takes up space in the boat and tends to get in the way. I am going to have to come up with a bracket for the back of the boat like the optional one that Chrysler had ...

Well, the answer to the question I asked is, YES you can make holes where I had marked in the picture. I did that to see what was under the deck where the step is attached. I ended up cutting a chunk of the deck underneath the step out and used a router to carve out enough room for a steel plate I m...

Does anyone know if it would be safe to make a cutout in the front bulkhead right under where the mast step mounts like I have marked with red circles in this picture? http://s1052.photobucket.com/user/pugsterk9/media/Cutout_zpsjhzihlo1.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 I'm just not sure what is behind it. Wo...

Unfortunately, when I was attempting to raise the mast, the step pulled loose from the boat! No mast, no sailing! Does anyone have any suggestions for repairing this? I am new to ...

Thanks for the welcome CaptainScott! I already downloaded the PDF files you have for the Pirateer. Good information but only a brief mention of the accessories that were available and no pictures of the outboard motor bracket. That is o.k. though because like I mentioned in a follow up post I decide...

Never mind. After looking at things, I've decided to make a bracket that fits on the gudgeon since I doubt I would ever be using the rudder and the trolling motor at the same time That way don't have to add any more hardware to the back of the boat either.

NewPirateer owner

Hello All, I just purchased a 1977 Pirateer so I joined this group hoping to gain some knowledge. I have never owned a sailboat before and have never sailed. I am sure I will have some rigging questions soon but for now I was wondering if anyone had a Pirateer with the outboard motor bracket. I am w...
