Re: Broken rudder head replacement
Sorry, my boat is a 1979 C26, KNOT SURE. Rudder craft claims their rudder head works on 22s as well.

Re: Broken rudder head replacement
Has anyone tried the rudder head replacement from RUDDERCRAFT?
It raises the tiller connection point, which they say is a good idea.
Anyone tried this? Feedback please?

Outboard for C26
My 1979 9.9 long-shaft Chrysler outboard is no longer reliable. I intend to replace it with a new 4 stroke. The 'Sailor' outboards appear to have been designed to fit the transom of the C26. In particular, the top of the engine case is flattened in the front, fitting the transom aperture perfectly w...

I should have stated earlier that the meter will read voltage, accurate to 1/100 volt, if it's connected anywhere in your 12v system. It is only the amp related readings (amps, amp-hours and amphour percent) that require all loads running thru it. I don't think there is a problem running all power t...

Meter Wiring Photo
I have added a picture of the meter wiring solution described previously. A terminal block on the left for incoming power (large cables from battery). Multiple smaller wires connecting to the meter itself. Another terminal block "behind" the meter for connecting ALL power requirements. It ...

Digital Meter
Yes, the digital meter is very cool! It measures volts, amps, amp hours, amp hour percentage and charge state. Here's where I bought it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172213333578?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&var=471044083165&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT There are two concerns I've found so far. ...

Listing to Port
Yes, I considered the weight factor. There is another starter battery behind the white bulkhead, too. Actually, I don't know...or, to be more precise, I'm KNOT SURE. I have never seen this boat in the water! Left as-is, it would probably have a nasty list to port. I intend to counterbalance the batt...

OK...so I missed Spring '16!
In my original post, I predicted a spring '16 splashdown. Oops. Missed it! I have the boat on it's trailer, sitting beside my house. I've learned much about refitting a sailboat. In particular, I've learned that every project reveals 3 more that must be done! What I thought would be a simple "l...

Galley is GONE
The above offer for the C26 Galley is no more. It ran away to the landfill. I just couldn't justify storing it anymore.

C26 Keel Pin
Has anyone ever pulled/replaced the keel pin on a 26? I've found discussions in generalities, but I need to see video/photos if any exist. I know (in general) how to get to the pin, but I have to know more...I'm not the trailblazing type. Anyone know of any details on this procedure? Ira Madsen s/v ...

Oh, Yeah!
That's more like it! I've seen the Compac 23 before. They're more similar to the room in a C22 like we used to own. A much better use of space. We just felt the galley cabinet was almost as big as the head... but you can't sit down in it. We will probably use that new space for our 78 quart Yeti, wi...

C-26 Complete Galley
I've just removed the galley from my 1979 C26 (yes, on purpose). I hate to chop it up and throw it away because someone may need/want it. The SS Sink is in good shape, as is the two burner pressure alcohol stove. Both are stock. The wood cabinet is in good shape with no rot or distortions. I also ha...

Back To Chrysler Cult After 15 years
I've just purchased a 1978 C26 from Stockton Lake in Missouri, and hauled her 700 miles to Dauphin Island, Alabama. I'm refurbishing her now and hope to get her wet by spring 2016. I sailed a 1977 C22 "Haiku" for 16 years back in the late 80's, and I truly loved that boat. I met Caroline d...

New To Forum - Looking for Sailor 250 manual
Does anyone have a Sailor 250 service manual that they would share? I'd be more than happy to pay for copy and shipping, etc.

Chrysler 250 Question
I'm working trying to revive a 1978 Chrysler Sailor 250. I took the lower unit off and replaced the impeller. Here's my question: Does a water stream come out of the two holes in the lower part of the engine (above the lower unit)? Most water cooled engines have a big stream (waverunners have a roos...

Rudder Hits Prop
I don't have any chunks out of my rudder, but I saw the possibility, so I attached a block of hard rubber on the rudder swivel that prevents the rudder from swinging all the way up. I configured it so it will come within about 5 inches to the prop, but no further. It's just a fabricated "stop&q...
