Low Boom
It seems to me that the boom is way to low. When I have the main on, I can't look past it to see the other side. When the sail is up, then I can just see a bit under the boom. Just thinking here, but can you take a long ratchet strap, make a loop around the mast and use the jib halyard to raise it just under the spreader mount, hitch the halyard and ratchet from the toe rail? I have a Chysler c22 ans was wondering how to rig the jib sheets.
I know it seems like a weird question, but I am learning to sail and even though I have ran the sheets, it just does not look right.
