Re: Where should I mount my new MFD (Chartplotter)?

20180501_091203.jpg This is what I did in my Triton. Made an extra washboard and mounted the chartplotter in it. Enables me to see it in the cockpit, plus can be turned around to be viewed in the cabin for anchor watch at night. Also easy to pull the board out and replace with the original one whil...

C22 Lower Aft Stay

Needing 1 lower aft stay for my C22. Anyone have one for sale or know of a place to get one? I've got a couple of broken wires in my starboard one.

Scott, thanks for the detailed reply. I'm going out in the middle of the lake tomorrow where there is nothing to hit but fish and mess around with it. I'm loving this Pearson so far, but the prop walk has got me worried enough that I hate going in and out of my slip without knowing I've got help sta...

That does make sense Greg. You think the keel is still low enough to keep the boat safe in 10-15mph winds?

That may be a big part of it. The main is old and needs replaced soon. Makes me feel a little better, I was getting a little down on my boat. I've never sailed another C22, so I don't know what's normal for weather helm.

I am trying to make any other adjustments instead of slowing the boat dramatically. If I have to reef a main even though it's only blowing 10 or 12, I have to think this boat is designed better than that. I have noticed the aft end of the boat definitely sits really low, but I thought that should ac...

I sail quite a bit and really feel like I need an 80 or so. I found a 90 that reefs up to 4'6" that I am really interested in. It will increase your sailing time.

I have sails now and go out a couple times a week. The main got a tear in it, took it to a sail maker who repaired it. He said it was about at the end of it's lifetime and recommended I look online and find a good used sail. He told me not to spend a lot of money considering I wasn't racing. I also ...

Any one have any opinions of either Bacon Sails or Sail Warehouse? Sail Warehouse has a new fully battened, 5oz, 1 reef main for my C22 for $595. Bacon has a used Lippincott sail, 5.5oz, listed as Good+, 1 reef, 4 standard battens, fairly clean for $225. Choosing and buying a sail is above my paygra...

I use a 1000 lb boat trailer winch attached to the front cleat. Lift the mast from the back as high as you can while your wife winds the winch in. The faster the better, within reason. Make sure the boat does not have a strong crosswind. Don't put too much pressure on the winch until you have the ma...

I'm thinking that more storage is more important than the limited added safety of the flotation. By the way, are there any Sailing Addict support groups out there? I'm thinking I need to start my 12 step program before it is too late.
