Chrysler Enthusiasts in Wisconsin
One of the ways to encourage sailing is to create events or enthusiasts to get together. It seems there are more Chrysler sailors active in Wisconsin. Creating events are an incentive for me to make more progress, be prepared and makes me a safer sailor. Any interest in a regatta, meeting or tour? H...

Merry Christmas Everyone! For the past four years, my two daughters would usually take me skiing on Christmas eve. A great time to hit the slopes as few people are out there. Unfortunately, no snow when it is 40-50 degrees for the past few days! Christmas eve with my parents and midnight mass afterw...

I have (3) Chrysler outboards that I am going to convert into two runners. One is the original long shaft 9.9 with a siezed motor, a 280 with drop damage and low hours and a 12.9 short shaft with a wobbly tiller. The siezed up 9.9 is going to get the 12.9 power head. The 12.9 will be the donor for t...

Thanks for sharing this thread. As an inactive airplane pilot, I still attend safety seminars. I think a thread about sailboat safety would be a nice complement to this website. The comments about life jackets in particular were good. As I read through the story, I could not help but connect with th...

C-22 For Sale - Wisconsin
Hello, I have recently lost my job and may need to sell our C22. I have made several postings about the restoration work I have performed including the cabin doors, cover slides, compass housing, new tiller and outboard mount. I have (2) Chrysler outboards. The original long-shaft 10 hp was sitting ...

Does anyone have any plans, dimensions and features for a galley? Ours does not have one with it. 'Thought it would be a good winter project.

A small container of apple cider vinegar is supposed to be a very effective repellent. Spraying it on the openings creates a barrier and they will be gone within a day. If you don't mind dusting (Sevin-5), it will kill them over the course of a week. Wear a mask. I have taken the Rambo approach with...

Where in the Milwaukee area can I get a rear cable stay. One of the two is missing. I have been living with one, but thought I should fix it before it gets broken!
Thanks in advance.

Bridle materials and assembly
I see the posted drawings show the use of 1/8" cable. Is that really necessary? It looks like I could also get away with some inexpensive galvanized/zinc plated caribiners for latching it together. I was thinking of using 5/16 or 3/8 line which would be salvaged from an old jib line from our 47...

That looks fanatastic! I think I'll choogle on down to Harbor Freight and git me one of those. the nice thing about baking soda - you can leave it lay around and let the rain wash it away, or hose it down. C-22 Outboard Motor Mount Restoration
Hello, I thought I would post some before/after pictures of the out board motor mount that I had freshened up. In particular, I used "soda blasting" to clean up the anodized aluminum. I found that blasting with baking soda removes scum and stains while preserving the anodized coating. One ...

Outboard Engine Hood needed for '76 10hp Chrysler
Hello, When we bought the sailboat, the engine was missing its cover. As I have scoured the web, I have learned that a Sailor 250, 9.9, 10, 12.9, 15 HP, Chrysler, Force or Sea King hood have the same form and likely to fit on our engine. I mistakenly bought a hood for an 8HP engine, and it is about ...
