What are you using for a slide? I was thinking that recess in the seat was for a wheel guide. Looks good. Thanks for the inspiration.

I like the ideas to make it simple and create more utility that what was stock. I will noodle on that for a while.

A small container of apple cider vinegar is supposed to be a very effective repellent. Spraying it on the openings creates a barrier and they will be gone within a day.

If you don't mind dusting (Sevin-5), it will kill them over the course of a week. Wear a mask.

I see the posted drawings show the use of 1/8" cable. Is that really necessary? It looks like I could also get away with some inexpensive galvanized/zinc plated caribiners for latching it together. I picked up a complete Chrysler 12.9 hp short shaft which is supposed to run for $100. If nothing else, I will transplant the power head into the 10hp long shaft. I hope to have it running this week.
