1977 Chrysler sailor 250 for sale

Hello all. I have a 1977 Chrysler 250 - 9.9 hp out board engine for sale. It came off of my C26 when I up graded with a 4 stroke. The engin ran and operated great. The only reason for changing was to go to a 4 stroke. The controler is not included as it is in use on the C26. $600.00 or best offer. I...

Re: Gas tank question

Hello, I have a 1977-C26 and I use an attwood 6 gallon gas tank. It fits in the starboard side of the aft lazarette. The only issues I have had are due to government regulations banning vents on gas tanks. The attwood tank fits quite nicely in the compartment untill it gets hot or the tank sweels du...

Re: What else entertains you?

Hello all, It's been along time since I've posted, but I just want to say how nice it is to know there is a group of people out there that shares so much in common. I also enjoy rc planes and low level rc heicopters. I very much enjoy music, both singing and playing. I play banjo, ukulaly, and guita...

Bilge pump location

Hello Darmah. On my 77 c26 witch I believe is in the stock configuration the bilge pump is located below the access hatch in the aft cabin, and the through hull is right by the sink drain on the port side. Rember to put a big arch in the line on the bulkhead behind the sink so water cannot come in w...

I have to admit the idea of money not being an issue is hard to fathom. I've often said to my first mate (wife that is) that in being into sailing," I'm a poor guy playing a rich man's game". So my mind kind of goes blank when I start to think beyond a new set of sails, some new instrument...

Hello fello Michigan sailor. If space is what you are after, I wonder if a section of a ladder cut to fit would work for you. A section of ladder would have a thinner crossection and would there by take up less space while in use in position and would definitely take up less space when not in positi...

capsize recovery

I'm wondering if in the excitement of capsizing you are forgetting to release the main sail sheet line. If so, that could cause a repeated capsize. Releasing the main sail sheet line will also make the boat eazyer to right and it also then, shouldn't try to sail away with out you or capsize again. T...

sail selection

It seems to me that if you were only planing to run one sail that the main sail would, or should perform better by its self than a head sail would. Like you were saying the rudder was being over powered, because all of the power was at the front of the boat. The main sail alone would balance the pow...

I've decided to go with a Standard Horizons GX1700B vhf for my boat. I'm wondering what is the best antenna and cable combination for a masthead setup. And where do you all have your radios mounted. Manual tranys and big boats?

Hi everyone, The second boat I had when I was young was a 12' Sea Flight by Star Craft. I pulled it all over Michigan with my AMC Eagle. The car had a four speed manual trany, I don't remember having any trouble at launches then, but now I have a C26. My current truck has a auto trany and is a snap ...

Hi every one. I like the idea of rudders being synchronized with the engine. On my last boat I could steer the engine, and that was vary handy in tight places. I like the rudder design that Hake uses on there Seaward line. Thx. Boaty

I went out today and opened the main hatch on my boat and got an unpleasant surprise.
