Hi Kyle. Glad to hear someone who sailed Ligntnings. In the summer of 1982 I crewed on a Lightning, sailing below UWGB campus on Green Bay. I was the "Chute Hand", and sailed with a great Captain. I really learned a lot that summer. They used a vise grip for a Plumb Line. Great vessel!

Sailing in west texas
I have been a member of this Forum for five years, and my sailing was done a long time ago. Now, living in west texas, I need a Day Sailor. My first sailing experience was in 1982, being a crew member on an O'Day Lightning. I was the "Chute Hand" managing the Spinnaker on the down wind leg...

Weldon, how is your C_20 sailing? I tried to buy a c-20 in Arizona, but the owner was saving it for his son. If you don't mind telling, how much did you pay for your C-20?

I'm a General class amateur radio opedrator, and like Astrorad, I'm studying for the Extra class exam, That's tough. I'm a Special Education Aide for grades K-2. I really enjoy singing in choirs at church and in the community. Also, camping and fishing. Thanks for asking this strand.

I'm anxious to hear how the "Summer of Sailing" has been. I had my eye on a C20 in Arizona. Tried to buy it, but the owner was saving it for his son. I never did get a cruse on her.

Beautiful C22!! Makes my heart beat a little faster to see how "Ship Shape" she looks. Seems like everything's there, including the American Flag! Wonderful family, giving lots of support. Is that a Ham radio tower in the background? My two favorite things, sailing & ham radio.

I was just reading some of the posts in this "Day Sailor" section. Your slow leak could come from the Self Bailor, which works very well when under way.

A good Instructional book
Since I haven't sailed in years, I have to do my sailing through books. This winter I've been reading INVATION TO SAILING by Alan Brown. It is a great book to relearn the basic sailing skills I learned 30 years ago. Besides the basic instructions, it has practical exercises to actually use those pri...

Hi Tim,
Freeride looks beautiful. She looks solid and tight, just needs some cleaning and stowing.
This opinion comes from a total novice, so take it with a grain of salt.

Now would be a good time to think about the box and wires again. Mounting it under the companionway would be a convienent place to put it.
