Re: Hello Chrysler 26 sailors
Dan,
Sounds like an interesting project. I don't think anyone here has done full electrical propulsion. good luck and keep us posted on progress. As Rick mentioned the site hasn't been very active and that's partly my fault. I'm sure your renewed involvement will help the site immensely.

Re: OPEN CALL - TAKE OVER THIS WEBSITE
The website itself is just a matter of yearly renewals on GoDaddy. The cost for that is appx $100/yearly. The discussion board software is PhPBB and I have that upgraded to a very recent version. Ongoing tasks are only new member activations which are only appx 1 per week lately. Some IT experience ...

OPEN CALL - TAKE OVER THIS WEBSITE
Ahoy Mateys!
The time has come for me to pass on the ownership of this site to someone else. I'm selling my C22 and honestly haven't been sailing in years. I helped Captain Scott years ago with admin work and upgraded this website to the the latest PHPBB versions. He moved on and I took over, but ...

Welcome to the forum. What year is that C22? If you're doing restoration work then you'll find loads of helpful information here. Whereabouts will you be sailing?

How to Contact Us
There may be times when the Contact page is not working. Unfortunate that spambots flood that page. Use the email embedded in the pic below as a backup.

Upgrades, about registration and more
Greetings Chrysler Sailors,
I've upgraded the discussion forum to PhpBB version 3.2.11. My goal is to keep pushing that onwards toward version 3.3.11 -- most recent version. See new announcements. Also, the registration process is still prone to spambots so I'm having to start and stop that until I ...

Re: Chrysler 22 Keel Cable
The swing keel weighs over 900 lbs. Stainless Steel 3/16" wire rope is the only option. REPLACE it and all supporting hardware at your earliest convenience , or when it (nylon) breaks, the keel trunk will get damaged when the keel falls and find yourself unable to easily retrieve

Re: Captain Scott is still alive! LOL!
Scott, Glad to hear from you. Sorry to report I haven't done much with the forum. I removed new registrations feature about a month ago. I just got back from Michigan last week. I'm going to post soon if anyone wants to take the site over. FYI...couple years ago I cloned/archived Jeff Arnfield's ...

Rick, Thanks for sharing that and for the pix. Sorry to hear after all that your trip was cut short. Bummer. I trust your next outing will be much less stressful and much more sailing

Re: inspection
The swing keel in the C22 is appx 900 lbs. of cast iron and stainless steel. The SS part is an internal plate where the cable attaches. This is a great question and many of us have had the same curiosity. Suffice to say, that Chrysler (and the design engineer for that boat) did a great job in making ...

Attach some pix when you can. File size is limited so post if you need help with that. There's a stickie post somewhere I wrote about resizing to fit, etc..TBDay wrote:Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Mast step/Tabernacle?
I have it off the trailer inside the shop so raising the mast is not possible. Checking the V birth and the seats for table inside against the water line mark are very close. Way the rigging looked and the mast step fiberglass broken badly repaired would not trust that part is even close. Looks ...

Re: Mast step/Tabernacle?
I can get you some pix next few days of mine. Leveling is tricky. Doing mine (1980 C22), I had the boat level on trailer. Of course requires some separate factors to confirm true level and plenty of resources online for that. When sure of level, attach simple strings (port and stbd) from masthead ...

Re: What sealant to use replacing windows.
Welcome! 3M5200 is by far the best marine sealant on the planet. For areas where you foresee needing to remove later, butyl caulk works well. Comes in gray. Do you mean the toe rail or the stanchion posts are loose? Posts some pix.
