What didja get?
Sorry to leave you guys hanging like that  I bought a Hunter 28.5. The P.O. moved out of the state and the boat has been sitting on the hard for the last two years. She came pretty well equipped with chart plotter, wind instruments, auto pilot, depth and speed indicators. Once the Admiral found...

The "Alpha" needs a new home
The time has come and we have moved up to a larger boat. "Alpha" is a great boat. If anybody is looking for a nice solid C-26, here is your chance. I posted a link in the classified section. I have no regrets buying this boat. It has been a great boat for my family and I to learn on and de...

Videos anyone????
The forum has been way too quiet lately. This has been the longest, coldest winter in quite a while. In order to help pull us through I thought it would be fun to start a video thread. If anybody has a sailing video they would be be willing to share, please post it. :D I will start things out. This ...

aerojet777 - I think you should go for it. After you have finished, do a write up on what components you used and how it worked out. I hope to add shore power to the Alpha by next summer. It should make life at the dock more comfortable. Even though I would rather be swinging on a hook somewhere. :l...

Just as I put my sailing cravings to rest for the winter....
The Admiral took me to the Jimmy Buffett concert last night
Now the juices are flowing again as I sit and watch it snow outside. Going to be a long 5 months.
Jimmy still puts on an awsome show. BOAT DRINKS anyone?

I do have the EZ Loader roller trailer also. We launched at Red Cliff without any problem but my rear wheels were in the water. This was our first trip up to the islands so it was a good learning curve for us. It was a lot more challenging with all the wind shifts we encountered than sailing Mille L...

Craig, I have to agree with everybody else, that is an awsome write up of your adventure. I especially enjoyed reading it because we were also up there in August so I can relate to some of the places you visited. I will definately have to visit Bear Island and check out those sea caves next year. Ho...

The inflatable vests we have claim to inflate when they are submerged in 4 inches of water. I suppose if you are soaking wet and putting pressure on the arming sensor it could have been fooled. Its good to know they work. Too bad it costs $30.00 to find out. I do agree they are much more comfortable...

My C-26 is pretty balanced as it sits on the trailer empty. I pull mine with a K2500 HD and a ball mount without any drop so there is some weight on the tongue. If someone were to use a van with the same set up there would be negative tongue weight. I prefere to shift as much gear forward as I can j...

Raising the mast on my C26 was very intimidating at first. First thing you will want to do is make yourself a crutch that mounts on the stern. Without this, the mast will hit the top of the sliding hatch. I built mine so it straddles the rear of the cockpit coaming and is notched to grab the rear ra...
