Thanks for the input. I will see what I can do to add a third support near the back. Right now, my supports are about 7 1/2 feet between centers, which is a bit longer than the ~ 5 1/2 feet for your trailers.

Thanks Bruce and Bob. The pictures will help. To make sure I understand your terms: when you say
"Center of outer rail to center of post A = 14" ", Do you mean the distance from the side rail on the trailer to the center of the post, measured across the trailer (offset of the post from the outside ...

Chrysler 20 Trailer Question

I have a Chrysler 20 sailboat that I have owned for about 8 months. It came with a trailer, although we have kept it in a slip up until now, so I have never seen the underside of the boat. The trailer supports (bunks and guides) were in bad shape and I had to rebuild a all of it. I am not sure how ...

On my C-20, I had some leaks with heavy rain. The biggest sources turned out to be the screw holes along side the keel cable trough in the cockpit and the screw holes that attach the cover over the keel winch. Some previous owner had 'sealed' them with some sort of silicone caulk at one point in the ...

Thanks Guys. I did read Windward's 'Getting in Tune' discussion and have no idea what it all means. LOL...I suspect that his C-26 setting and/or procedure would probably not be totally applicable to the C-20 in any case. As a beginning sailor, I figure I am unlikely to be able to notice any ...

C-20 Rig Tension

My wife and I were washing and petting the 'new' C-20 today when I noticed that the standing rigging seemed a bit loose. All of the turnbuckles are covered with PVC pipe (is that normal?), so I had not really inspected them before; after all, the previous owner was sailing the boat. On checking ...

Thanks for the comments.
We are just coming into the best sailing months of the year here in florida...the threat of afternoon thunderstorms and hurricanes is almost over. I really feel for you guys up north. Then again, you can sail the summer months when we are huddling inside trying to keep dry ...

Thanks Guys. Glad to be a part of the group. This is my first sailboat (well, first boat period unless you count my kayak!). I think it will be ideal for learning to sail, and much more 'user friendly' for my better half than the small 16 footers I was looking at. They are forecasting a beautiful ...

Yet Another New C20 Owner

Continuing the 'surge' in C20 buyers, my wife and I purchased a 1978 C20 on the 3rd of October. We have had the boat out several times and it fits us perfectly. The previous owner had done quite a bit of upgrading and repair, so the boat is in great shape; it came with new bottom paint and a brand ...
