I don't know. Not a great deal in this day and age. I passed on a decent free c26 right near me. By the time I purhcased a trailer and upkeep it seemed like buying a boat with a trailer and ready to go would mean about the same investmet. Guess a fair price if the new buyer plans to keep it at the s...

c22 genoa sail

Base of sail is 178" and 310" along the luff (side that attaches to the headstay.) puts it at around the 160-165% mark as I fugure though I am not an expert at sizing genoa %. If that is something you are interested in let me know. Condition is fair, sail is a little dirty but may clean up...

Purple Power? The degreaser? I wonder if any degreaser would work similarly. Do you remember if he only used it on the outside? Or inside too? Mine really look like garbage, and I'd love to get them looking cleaner and letting in even light. yeah, purple powe the degreaser is what he said he used. ...

No, it is just brown fiberglass with no gelocat over it. It is to let light shine through those brown areas. Works ok. On my boat one strip is like new and the rest are kind of weathwered and dried out looking. He said he renewed that one by applying Purple Power cleaner to it and letting it sit. Gu...

I would not want to loose that flotation. The peace of mind for me, as my boats tend to be moored, is better than storage space. But wow that is some great storage space! I still have to launch and see if I have the soggy foam issue. if I do I am just going to shove some plain white foam blocks that...

Hi Billy, I'd just put your mast up and mesure where your boom would sit for the dimensions of the sail you want. If the boom is high enough, GO FOR IT! Please remember to leave a few inches for luff stretch. It will and your boom will be noticably lower over time. Do the math, don't fret, and ORDE...

Don't feel bad. Sometimes less is more! I passed on the free 26 someone gave away here a month back. Spoke to the fella and it was only 60 miles from me. But did not take much thought to realize the 22 was an all round better boat for me so I let it go. Aside from the ease of trailering and less cos...

Alan, I like the way you have rigged the jib to clear the railings. I'm going to see if I have enough room to do the same. Looks like it makes life easy on those expensive sails. Doing that will throw your boat off balance some. You wan that sail low if at all possible. Can be a little obtuse at ti...

Liquid nails and somew other construction adheasives are a poor choice. Over some years they dry out to the point they become brittle and shrink. I do not know if this will take 5 years or 20. But when I did remodeling for a living most that we came across over a few years old was a brittle and usel...

I am up in Blairsville and am pretty sure I will take her. Just got to figure on hauling costs if no trailer is available. If there is a trailer than you can 100% consider it sold tp a grateful new owner. When can I come take a look? I am just about broke, so this may be just the deal for me LOL!

on a trailer sailor that seems already over rigged i see no possible issue. if you race, see damage or push your boat very very hard that is another story. most of what you read is for boats that stay masted and have harder rigging lives than nearly any c22.

Hull blisters

Got a bunch of em. 100-200 over the hull of my 22 I am guessing. Tiny to about 1/2". None seem to be popping off and I assume they have been there a while. Any reason to do anything about it? Can't imagine it will effect spped on a 3,000lb. sailboat with 200sf of sail...lol!

Thanks

With all due respect, that seems like a thoughtful answer you got back. I tend to agree with him too. That said, it looks like you have at least a 3,500lb axle, perhaps heavier. I see no reason to add that second axle. If you are tounge heavy, move the boat back a little. Tounge weight should be 320...

I do think it is odd that this boat seems overbuilt for the intended use. From what little I could see it seems like a very nice setup for short offshore trips if you wish to do so in a little boat. I sure wouldn't even consider it anything but stupid to be out more than a few miles in a swing keel ...

I have never done this job, but becoming handy is learning through trial and error. This one seems like a big job, but nothing about it is complicated. May I suggest you jack it up on the trailer. Insted of stands or cradles...or worse...cinder blocks, just take the axle off the trailer if there are...
