Sorry to hear nobody grabbed it up, Bill! They would have gotten a sweet boat!

I was twisting one of my coworker's arms to jump on it, but he just isn't financially able.

Cheers!

Walt- I've installed a few this way, here's the scoop: Depth finders are sounders that pulse a sound wave and measure return off a change in density of material the sound is travelling through. If you mount one to the hull with epoxy, you want to make sure you are mounting it on a solid surface. Any...

I'm now an owner of both the C-22 you see on my avatar and a well stripped C-26 once owned by our friend Sauerleigh. The way I see it, that's the perfect time to set your boat up with just what you want. Get into a book or two to keep you out of trouble. Don Casey and Nigel Calder are a couple favor...

A former Chrysler sailor with handle Sauerleigh made this for the base of his compression post. So yes, you can replace the wooden post. This one is stainless.

Welcome! Where are you located? If you are near a marina that specializes in sailboats, take it in and have a rigging inspection. Typically reasonable in cost and well worth the peace of mind!

Under that seat access, you'll typically find a screw-on cap. Take that cap off and you'll find the pin. Hopefully it's threaded so you can run a bolt in to help retract it.

Pulled mine, repeated the original brackets and put same pin back in. They looked that good!

Do you live in the Bay area? I retired from the USAF in Sunnyvale/Mt View. Blue Cube, if you're familiar.

If everything is running to the max, what is the max capability of your panel? Let me know that and rough length of wire you'll run and I'll figure it for you tomorrow at work. Nothing real accurate is necessary, rough estimates is good enough. This will be a practical example of what I described ab...

does anyone know the low amperage of 12 gauge wire ...or does it depend on the length... also for our 26 ft boats what guage should we use 10 or 12 ga. A little difficult to answer with just that info, so let me explain a couple more things. Wire comes with temperature rating on the insulation. If ...

Keep in mind the purpose of breakers and fuses--you are protecting the wires from a short that could cause those wires to burn. You want to protect at the closest point to the source as possible. ABYC states within 7-inches, generally. So, your main cable running from the batts should have either a ...

Hey Boaty-

Here's a site to give you a general idea:

http://www.econ2way.com/catalog/public/ ... _cable.htm

Though specs vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, you note that the RG-58 is twice as "lossy" as RG-8. RG-8 = good.

Cheers!

water logged foam

I'm one of us owners to discover the truth about why so many of our 22's list to starboard. I've pulled the foam out of the lazzerette where the galley slides. Foam out of the area on the starboard side just forward of the chainplate bulkhead. I even cut open the area under the v-birth storage area....
