Had a baby, Thinking of selling my 1980 C22
Wont be able to get it in the water this year, I live in Wisconsin and I have posted some pics and videos on this site in the past The boat is in great shape for its age, it has the highly sought after pop top, one of the nicest ones I have seen. There are some pics here: http://www.zewp.com/dump/th...

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1977 C-26 for
Stupid cheap... The boat is old, needs to be cleaned up, needs new ropes, etc. It has been sitting on a trailer for years but it is solid... its such a shame to see a masterpiece not being used for so long, if it was my boast I would be sailing it often and sailing it hard. Couple questions: A) Are ...

IIRC the CY-30 was a prototype that was shown just as Chrysler was exiting the scene. Was sold with the others in the line to Texas Marine(TMI) then as a Ticon, but less than forty were built. Windward has some TMI-30 pics here http://chryslersailing.lizards.net/sail_photos.html#C-30 There's a vide...

Nice video. I sailed Lake Mendota many times in my beach cat days, but we've only had Copacetic there once last summer. Lots of good memories there. Yea its a great sailing lake, plenty big and can even get pretty treacherous when the winds pick up. I spent the money to keep my boat on a pier this ...

Here we mounted a waterproof cam right above the rails and we were able to bury it twice in the water toward the end. We were really hauling.

I was impressed at how much that C22 could handle..My confidence in these chryslers has just sky rocketed :D From the top of the mast to the rudder, everything held up great..what a tank!! :D I was walking on the sides of the boat..The best thing is I dont know how I stayed on  And to think ...

Is it time to start buying sailboats hand over fist?
As most of you are probably aware the economy is currently in an unprecedented storm. For the last several years we have seen a deflationary spiral in hard assets like never before and this has become very evident with the value of recreational items in particular boats. Not long ago you couldnt tou...

Here's another you tube video recorded a couple of days ago. It's hard to see but the chop on the lake was about 3-4' and the wind around the front seen in the distance was formidable. Fortunately I have no instrumentation on board or we (my brother and I) might have stayed home and missed a great ...

Hey Heekee, What was up with that mainsail trim on that hunter? Looks like either the sail was not up all the way, or you have a loose downhaul. http://www.cyberdronics.com/boat/badmain.jpg In high winds, you want that sail nice and flat. Get those wrinkles out! Good point, even though the sails ap...

I have the same boat and I have had to replace my rudder line twice so far this year since I need to make a mile long trek up and down a shallow river channel packed with weeds every time I go out. Unless the rope is getting caught somewhere in the joint I cant think of any wrong way to hook it up i...

Well, the Hunter is nice in the pics and vid, but how about the Chrysler ? Ah yes, still waiting for my brother to send me some of the pics he took of my Chrysler in action, he was in the other boat, so far I only have pics of the boat sitting on the dock http://www.zewg.net/dump/photo/sandpiperyot...

Weekend Sailing
Got to sail both boats this weekend and try out the new Hunter. These pics are from Saturday, on Sunday we sailed the Hunter in winds as high as 23 knots. Just having the main sail up was enough to heel the boat all the way over but it handled really well in the choppy water. Not bad considering it ...

Chrysler 22 vs. Hunter 23.
I got a sweet deal earlier this year on my Chrysler for $2500, It was in great condition and it came with a harken roller furling. Now when my Uncle and I came across a 1985 Hunter 23 for $1500 we jumped on it even thought it was incredibly dirty and was sitting in someones back yard for the past 7 ...

Its a sailboat its suppose to tip
Welcome and what a great video. I have what I call washed the windows on my 75 C-22 a few times and it never seemed to do better then me and the crew. I know its slower to run the rail in the water but it sure is fun. It was pretty funny the first time we went out. It was windy and my uncle who got...

Is it possible to tip a 22 foot Chrysler all the way over?
Im relatively new to sailing and acquired a 1980 Chrysler Sandpiper this year. While sailing in fairly heavy winds I have heeled until the water is just over the side rails but with the keel down it almost seems that no matter how heavy the wind is the boat remains stable. I suspect that there would...
