At 18-25 mph winds you are in over my pay grade!!!!!! Good goin' sauerleigh!!!
For 5 weeks earlier this summer we had a young man from South Africa staying with us. I took him out once, his first time also, and while it was fun the winds were pretty light, 5 mph or thereabouts.

Japan is washing up on the shores of Washington? Wow....here in the Ozarks things like that cross our mind. The world really isn't that big, is it. Those folks over there have taken a beating. Just rain here....and rain...and rain. Fortunately for us all the bad stuff has gone either north or south ...

My first sail boat was a Chrysler Buccaneer. What I knew about sailing could have been put in thimble with room left, not that I know much more now. Lots of folks on this site helped a totally ignorant newbie get going. The Bucc is gone, replaced by a bigger boat and a smaller boat, neither of which...

Wow...I spent the winter in the woods, hunting and cutting firewood, cross country skiing, made a trip to Wisconsin with my two adult sons and skied for 4 days, read about 10 good books, worked on my sports cars, played music in and out of church, tied flys, fished for winter trout, cast bullets, re...

First time out with my Widgeon I pulled the wrong rope on the centerboard...yup, centerboard UP!!!...couldn't figger out why it seemed I was going the direction I wanted to go but kept sliding farther away from my destination. Felt like a complete dolt when I figgered it out. Boat was a lot more fun...

I agree astrodad. I don't believe we've seen the bottom of this market. Good advice 69 and good tip on the new tax law. Take whatever you can get from the govt. any time you can. They sure take ours from us! As my wife and I have always been self employed we started setting aside not long after we w...

Basically I'm a beginner at 57, (just behind ya astrorad!). When I bought the Bucc last winter everyon...
