I always raised and lowered that way. This would be done on the trailer. I would attach a long line to the fore stay, make sure you are over the bow pulpit, and run it in front of my tow vehicle. Slid your mast back to line up with the mast step, be sure someone holds the mast down as it will be hea...

My first launch I backed down the ramp until the boat was floating but did not unhook from the trailer. Then climbed aboard and looked for leaks below. Once I was sure there where no leaks I unhooked and pulled out the trailer. This is best done when the boat ramps are not busy.

It wll be much easier in the water. My C22 had the origonal rudder and it was harder to lower it in the water it wanted to float. I actually had to push it down a bit with a boat hook to get itt started and then it would lower easily. To bring it up a good pull on the line would start it and then my...

Great photos. I boat out of St Joseph and have passed that lighthouse many times. About half of those pictures are Lake Michigan lighthouses. Here is the St Joe lighthouse on a calmer day.

I looked at this boat about 5 years ago in Michigan City Indiana. The owner at the time had a Honda outboard on it. The teak on the deck had me concerned because it felt soft in spots and you couldn't see the fiberglass deck under it. It had a main and jib that were in decent shape at the time. I mi...

Hood Drifter (asymetrical spinnaker) for a C22

Since I sold my C22 I now have my Hood Drifter for sale. My dad ordered this sail new for his C22 back in 1978. When he sold his C22 in 1980 (he bought a bigger boat) he kept the sail. It sat in his attic in the sail bag until I bought my C22 four years ago. We pulled it out of the dust covered bag ...

Sold my C22

It is December 3rd in Michigan and I sold my C22 today. I was about to put the winter tarps on 2 weeks ago when I got an email asking if my boat was still for sale. He made the 2 hour drive to see it the Saturday after Thanksgiving and asked what my bottom price was. The phone rang last Wednesday an...

Brian, The tablecloth on the porta potty may cause you to become a solo sailor. Sounds like you need a C22. Come over to my side of the state and buy mine. Congrats on the 25 years. We hit the 25 year mark last July (high school sweathearts and still together). We leave Saturday for a week in Rivier...

My concern with mounting it on the stern rail is how many times I would smash it with the mast. My stern rail came with a nice bend in the middle where previous owners must have dropped the mast.

My C22 sits on an oem single axle trailer. I tow it short distances with a Jeep Liberty. I have towed it behind my motorhome to the Florida Keys about 3,500 miles round trip. Other then a broken hub and lost wheel it was a great trip. Now it sits on a new axle and I wouldn't think twice about haulin...

I have had my C22 for sale all summer and had several lookers but only one offer of $1,500 from someone that never saw it in person.
