Any interest in parts

I have a led on a C22 that I am looking at buying for parts. I thought I would take what I need and offer the rest at resonable prices. (This is the way I can justify buying it to my wife!) It is sitting on an original trailer that I don't need. Once the parts are gone and I get rid of the hull the ...

Mine was easy for this forum, my dad had a Chrysler C22 back in the 70's. It was the boat I learned to sail on. So I am a second generation Chrysler C22 owner. I guess a shorter name could have been C22 Jr.

Tim,

The sail is what used to be called a drifter. My dad ordered it from Hood sails back in the late 70's for his Chrysler C22. When he moved up in boats he kept the sail. When I bought my C22 he remembered he had it. The sail bag was covered in dust but the sail inside was like new.

Jeffery, Do you use the tie down straps from the bridle to the mast and from the bridle to the gin pole? That sounds easier then then a line from one to the other thru the bridle. Or does the line need to slid in the bridle as the mast raises and lowers? I finally got my boat in the water yesterday ...

Can the mast on a C22 be lowered using the same gin pole method that is used for raising it?

Alan, I have always chartered with the Moorings. They have been chartering in BVI for about 40 years. Before your first charter with them they have a form you fill out that is basically your sailing resume. Once approved you receive a certificate from them, you are checked out on the boat when you a...

I have only snorkled in BVI. My wife is more into reading and sunning when on a sailboat. Have you gone diving near the Rhone? I was amazed at what I could see snorkling over it I bet diving it would be even better. We have always gone to BVI the end of October the last week of hurricane season. Goo...

My experience of sailing in the Keys is limited to day sailing. My grandparents retired to Long Key (66 mile marker) in the early 70's and my dad had a C22 we trailered there every Christmas and spring break. I bought my C22 last summer and trailered it to Sunshine Key (mile marker 39) last Christma...

I keep hearing about Chrysler Sailors meeting and had a crazy idea. Why not pick a location and plan a long weekend get together with as many Chrysler sailboats as we could get in one location. Any thoughts on the idea?

Mast raising question

I have my bridles made but have a question before using them. I have always used the three person method when raising the mast on my C22. One on the ground pulling up using the forestay attached to a line with two on the boat lifting and keeping the mast straight (My wife isn't thrilled with this me...

We threw around a few names but nothing seemed to fit. What finally fit "Mel-O" the first three letters of our last name with an added letter to describe the feeling we have when sailing.

In a forum like this, most boats in the 30 plus age range, sails are going to be needed quite often. The service one member gets effects what the rest of us do. Rig-Rite is a prime example. I am about to order a mast step from them based on the great comments from members here. We are all waiting to...

I contacted IDA Sailor and their reply was they can make a set. The cost would be $55 for one or an upper and lower for $100 plus shipping. Delivery would be about one week. Now I just have to pull the rudder and see if they are needed.

You want to use the opposite end of your boom. The end away from the mast should have a hole for the pin. Scott has a great description with pictures and shows step by step how to raise the mast alone. I'm sure he will reply but it is still early on the west coast.
