Changing out the #10's for 1/4" hex went without a hitch. I also got the front eye bolts on the trailer for the tie-downs. Heading to the Wisconsin Northwoods in the morning for the labor day weekend. Hopefully I will have some decent wind on Lake George this weekend. Everyone have a safe and h...

Hi Clair, Using a 6" Deck Plate is exactly what I did. I still haven't had time to go through the pictures and post them yet, but I will eventually. Good idea using the empty 2-liter bottles for flotation. I don't have that many lying around right now, but it is worth considering instead of the...

I checked this evening and there is no gouged or stamped in HIN on the stern. The only identifiable markings are on the serial number plate. Anyone else have any ideas? I resubmitted my boat registration with the pictures I linked on this thread and an explaination that I beleive the boat to be pre-...

I repaired the gudgeon similar to how gclaborn did it. I will have pictures to follow. However, When I opened a hole in the deck near the stern I noticed that the flotation foam in the hull had broken up into little pieces and was scattered about the inside of the hull. I think it was originally onl...

Great job, Bill!

Sorry to see that nice paint job damaged when the tire blew. Isn't that Murphy's Law for you?

What is the color combo? From the pictures the new white looks light beige or off-white.

Thanks Archy.

I didn't get a chance to look this weekend, but I will check this evening when I get home from work. I don't recall seeing any indentations in the hull before, but I wasn't looking for any before either.

I figured it out. It isn't HTML that is the problem, but rather that BBCode has to be enabled (or the disable check box cleared). My profile was setup to disable BBCode. After changing the profile I can now attach pictures.

Boat registration

Hello all, I need help determining my boat year of manufacture. I thought it was a 1981 because what I thought was the HIN ended in 81. After registering the boat by mail I got a letter back from the WI DNR indicating that the HIN is not correct. They say that boats manufactured since 973 will have ...

Update...

Got the tiller extension and swivel cam cleat base installed this week. Both made life easier out on the water.

Still looking for another Man-o-War skipper out on the site.

I know this is an old thread, but I had the same problem happen to me this weekend. I am thinking of doing something similar to what you did and was wondering if it is still holding up. Looks like the previous owner also had the same problem because whatever they did to fix it has now failed. I temp...

Boat type in member profile

Great forum! As a new sailor it has been very informative to read the posts out there.

However, it would be helpfully to me to know what type of boats each member sails predominately. Maybe this could be a future add that appears with the avatar.

Nevermind... A buddy had a spare aftermarket Tiller Extension (telescoping) that he gave me. This one will work way better than anything I could fabricate. He also is selling me a used Harken swivel cam cleat base. The boat originally came with a lower quality version of one for the mainsheet, but t...

Man-o-War tiller extension bracket

Hello all,

I just recently purchased a 1981 (I think) C-15 Man-o-War. It is missing the tiller extension and hardware. I'm looking for a picture or diagram for the extension bracket so I can try to duplicate it.

Thanks,
Lee
