Its really to big for those winds. Reefing the main will help but a much smaller jib will help a lot more. I used an old main sail I had and cut it down. it barely comes back to the mast. It is pretty useless when the wind drops below 15 but does well when it is over. I put my sheet blocks for my ge...

Mine had been replaced at least once before with regular steel but I went with SS to avoid ever having to drag that beast out again because it was rusting apart...out of the water on a trailer the SS will last almost forever.

Do not under estimate the weight of the beast, it'll flatten a foot or break a leg or arm in flash. Good luck :)

Until they start supporting a android app I really am down on active captain, I believe I heard somewhere the galaxy 3 outsold the Iphone5 last month, that's just the galaxy 3...........they need to get with it and get over what ever it is that is preventing them from making a dedicated android app....

I think unless your standing rigging hardware is in bad shape your not going to have any issues with it. Especially on the 22, it is way over designed. That said finding a way to add weight on a swing keel that would be effective is tricky at best. I have added weight under the forward storage area ...

Take a spaghetti noodle stand it vertical and push down on it, it will bend and break long before it compresses. Same principle.

Compression is not really the problem, it is going to be lateral stiffness. It will want to bend under the load long before compression becomes an issue (the compression is of coarse causing the pole to bend). Set your pole on two saw horses and sit on it, if it holds you should be good to go.

I used a two part interlux paint called VC Performance epoxy with Teflon, it's like polarized hull plating and slick as grease. 4 years of trailering and it is still in good shape.

I would not have a jib without them, you can buy some that tape on or use some sail tape and make your own. A flat ribbon works best but yarn will work as well.

What ever method you choose it needs to be done soon. Water infiltration into the fiberglass will eventually cause it to rot from the inside out.

I would not sweat it, I think you would have to drop it pretty hard to break it loose.
