Now I am jealous...makes me want to charge up my glider and hit the field. I have come close to buying a RC sailboat but my real one seems to constantly drain the treasury. My Super Skybolt 2 has not seen the sky in ten years (needs a new motor)and my f4U Corsair lays half finished. Just not enough ...

It could be the shackle or fitting jammed in the cable thru hull or if the keel is rusting the rust can expand and jamb it in place.

FYI The upper fitting is the locking bolt for the keel, looks like they just sealed it up. Mine was nothing but rust and I removed it. Also the plywood backing in this area was rotted on mine you should check it out as well. No water is good and I have to tell you I was surprised not to see any when...

Mine starts up as soon as I start moving pretty quickly and climbs in pitch as I speed up...probably about 3 kts or so. As to the previous question I don't think the Cunningham is of much use on this size main when fully raised because you can easily tighten up the luff with the main halyard. I run ...

Good point if the wire/cable has cut through the thru hull then it could create a really weird leak. Time to replace it, last thing you want is water penetrating into the fiberglass structure and rotting it inside out.

Lengthening the hose will stop the leak if you have the room vertically to do it.

My next anchor will be adding a Manson Supreme as my main anchor and then keep one of my Danforths as back up or secondary if I need it.

My Dansforth is 15# I think and I have no problem getting a good hold in the muddy bottom of the St. Johns. Definitely sounds to light. I have about as much chain as you do but a little more can't hurt.

There should be some sort of grill though to keep the critters at bay. I finally swapped mine out for thru hulls with flappers to reduce the water coming in when I am backing out of the ramp. Though not water tight they do reduce how much water gets in the space. Even so there is always some in ther...

Well you would have to scrape it off in either case but I think when it is all done you will probably want to paint anyways because the scaping will do some damage to the gel coat. You can paint using the roll and tip method with excellent results if afterwards you decide it needs painting. Emergenc...
